Project Introduction and Purpose
The project goal is to ensure Old Baldy Mountain Park continues to be a vibrant and well-loved community outdoor recreational destination, and planning park improvements that will serve to meet the needs of the present and future generations.
Project objectives include engaging with the community to consider potential park elements that will increase outdoor recreational opportunities and provide a variety of park experiences while preserving and enhancing the natural beauty, ecological health, function, and benefit of the park.
The Management Plan is intended to establish an appropriate spatial arrangement for future park uses and establish a guiding vision for cost-effective park development over the next 10-15 years. The consultant team is expected to engage with the community to identify priorities and develop a concept plan that can be used to provide guidance for future investment in the park inclusive of trails and other park amenities that support public use as established in the Park Management Plan. Welcome to the Old Baldy Mountain Park Survey! The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is developing a 10 to 15 year management plan for Old Baldy Mountain Park. The management plan will address existing and community supported opportunities for outdoor recreation balanced with environmental values including habitat management, protection and ecological restoration.
This survey is intended to provide an opportunity for the public to share additional information for consideration in the development of the management plan including how the park is currently used and ideas for future improvements. At this time all trails have been unsanctioned and undeveloped or maintained, so your insights and opinions are essential in shaping the future of Old Baldy Mountain Park!
