The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) has an extensive and complex budgeting process, delivering over 180 distinct services across the region at a household, community and regional level. As each household receives different services from the CVRD depending on the Electoral Area or municipality you reside, as well as the neighbourhood you live in, budgetary decisions and resulting taxation impacts will affect each property differently. The amount of taxes paid by each property owner is also largely influenced by the assessed value of their property, as generated by BC Assessment on behalf of the Province of BC.
Given the complexity of the CVRD budget and our interest to ensure property owners are aware and engaged in this process, we would like to hear from residents to assist in shaping improvements to our public engagement process in relation to our budget. We’ve designed a short survey to gather your feedback on preferred options for receiving and providing information to the CVRD, your willingness to participate in the budget process, and gather any general comments you may have related to the CVRD budget.
Your input will help shape the 2025 CVRD budget process and ensure we are properly planning and designing engagement opportunities that reflect the needs and desires of Cowichan area residents.

Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary. No personal information will be collected as part of this survey. The survey responses you provide will be combined with the responses of other survey participants and individual responses will not be identified.
